Part Time | Pays $20/Hour | Up to 5 Hours/Week (2 Hours on Sunday and 3 Hours "Flex" Time)
Montevallo Presbyterian Church is looking for a multimedia and livestream specialist to lead or work alongside church volunteers in the execution of the Sunday worship service, which occurs each Sunday at 11am. This role pays $20/hour with a guaranteed two hours pay for each Sunday worked, as well as the opportunity to work an additional 3 hours/week outside of Sunday worship service. Additional responsibilities which are also available (at the specialist's choosing) include website content management, social media management, paid digital advertising, worship service content creation (slides and video animations), video content creation/editing, and more.
This job will be well suited for a high school or college student that is interested in a part-time job that only requires Sunday mornings from 10am until service conclusion (usually around noon); additional responsibilities can be completed remotely and with flexibility in timing. Experience is a plus, but not required. What is required in lieu of experience is a desire to learn and develop this skill, as we are happy to train this person to be proficient at livestreaming and audio-visual, as well as any additional competencies related to the job that the specialist wishes to acquire and develop.

AV - Multimedia & Livestream Specialist
Job Description Overview
The multimedia and livestream specialist is a role with both required and optional responsibilities that starts at $20 per hour up to 5 hours (average) per week depending on which optional responsibilities are paired with the required duties of the role. This role reports to the pastor for all employment-related matters, while working alongside church volunteers who also assist in performing many of these duties. Additional optional
responsibilities can be tailored to the individual’s interests or skills, but also with consideration to the needs of the church. Participation in the Sunday worship service guarantees a minimum of two hours pay. Four paid Sundays off per calendar year are included and earned on a prorated basis, with flexibility for additional unpaid Sundays off.
Required Duties: Pays a minimum of two hours pay; arrival at church is required at 10am, one hour before service begins in order to set up and troubleshoot any potential issues before service begins at 11am:
- Exclusive or partnered execution of the Sunday worship service, which includes both AV within the sanctuary and livestream execution (audio and video aspects). Individual aspects of the Sunday worship service may include the following duties:
- Microphone (wireless and wired) setup for pastor, liturgist, singers, and other participants of the worship services
- Audio level configuration/adjustments (microphones and keyboard) for both the sanctuary and the livestream
- Download/upload of visual multimedia elements for livestream and in-person worship
- Integration of visual multimedia elements during the worship service and livestream
- Utilization of 3 PTZ remote joystick-controlled cameras for the livestream
- Execution of the livestream using OBS and Restream software
Optional Duties: An additional three hours of work is available and encouraged if the specialist is experienced and/or interested in learning any of the following skills, supporting the office administrator and volunteers of the church in the preparation of content for the Sunday worship service and livestream:
- Website Content Management – to include adding/editing:
- Text for new or existing pages
- Images and graphics
- Videos
- Links to prior livestreams, newsletters, etc.
- Website and/or Worship Service & Livestream Content Creation – to include:
- Graphics (homepage sliders, custom images, livestream overlays) using Canva
- Video (using licensed and free stock images/video and church-created images/video, authorized music, etc.) using Movavi Video Suite and Canva
- Text for new or existing webpages
- Social Media Management
- Relevant posts of events, created content, livestreams, etc., primarily on Facebook.
- Paid campaigns to drive awareness of events that involve the church
- Search Engine Marketing
- Oversight/involvement with current Google/YouTube campaigns
- Collaboration with various members of the church to identify possible content to be created for the website, social media, Sunday worship services, livestream, etc. If the skillset or affinity towards creation isn’t there, but there is a strong desire to share ideas, concepts, or themes, this is also welcome.
While experience with technology in a general sense is preferred, an interest and willingness to learn is all we require; experience is a very nice plus. We will provide all training necessary to be successful in the role.
