WE ARE ALL CREATED IN GOD'S IMAGE.        ALL. OF. US.

lgbtqIA+ welcome statement

Montevallo Presbyterian Church warmly invites and welcomes persons who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as all who seek to deepen their relationship with God.  Our culture is a diverse one comprised of many different types of people, and while many institutions choose to practice a policy of exclusion, Montevallo Presbyterian Church chooses to practice acceptance and welcome for all people.

As an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, Montevallo Presbyterian Church provides space at the church for hosting PFLAG meetings every fourth Tuesday at 7pm.

At Montevallo Presbyterian Church, we strongly believe our welcome statement says it all:

Montevallo Presbyterian Church welcomes all people into the full life of our congregation, including services of worship, membership, eligibility for leadership, availability of pastoral care, and opportunities for learning, fellowship and service. We affirm the worth of every person as a bearer of God’s image, and we welcome all people, regardless of social, economic or marital status, race, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or previous religious affiliation. As we are freely loved and accepted by God, we will offer love and acceptance in this congregation.

Whether you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender...

Or if you know or love someone who identifies as LGBTQIA+...

Or if you believe that we were ALL created in God's image...

Or if you simply want to find a place of worship where all are welcome as our welcome statement describes...we invite you to our friendly, open, accepting church in beautiful Montevallo, Alabama.

Come for coffee and fellowship at 10:30am every Sunday and worship at 11am. We hope you will stop by and see what Montevallo Presbyterian Church is all about.

MPC is a proud member of gaychurch.org, which provides a directory of affirming Christian churches. An affirming church is defined as one that does not view homosexuality in and of itself as a sin, and therefore would welcome and treat a LBGTQ+ person no differently than any other person who walked through their church doors seeking Christ.

Montevallo Presbyterian Church mourns those lost via hate-fueled acts against the LGBTQIA+ community.  The prayer video below was created by MPC following the despicable acts committed at Club Q in Colorado Springs in November 2022.
