David Haws works part-time at MPC and is a member of First United Methodist Church in Montevallo. He lives in Montevallo with his wife Anna, a retired Professor of English and Women's Studies at the University of North Alabama, and with three teenaged boys: son, JD, and nephews, Mark and Chris (two of them drive, so watch out). David loves to read and write, and he graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in English and from Washington University in St. Louis with an M.A. in English and American Literature.
Molly Mize is a current freshman Piano Performance major at the University of Montevallo. She began studying piano at the age of seven and has been passionate ever since. She previously studied with Deborah Beason before attending the University of Montevallo, where she studies with Dr. Cynthia MacCrae.
Wayne McLaughlin, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, has served pastorates in Indiana and Ohio. He served as the Transitional Pastor at MPC before Leanne was called. Wayne has a broad ecumenical background, having begun ministry as a Southern Baptist minister before transferring his ordination into the Presbyterian Church; and having once served a Lutheran congregation as part of an ecumenical parish. His first spiritual director was a Catholic priest, and he has taken graduate level courses at two Catholic schools – the University of Dayton and the University of Notre Dame. The author of six books, Wayne is a retired member of our presbytery – Sheppards and Lapsley. He lives with his wife Pat in Homewood.
